Therapist

Carla studied at UCI to earn her B.A. in psychology and went on to National University to receive her M.A. in counseling psychology. At Asana Recovery, she works with clients as a licensed marriage and family therapist and assists with interpersonal and relationship issues. She provides support for clients who have challenges with the relationships in their lives, and addresses the role that addictions play. She helps them develop self esteem, cope with difficult life challenges, process grief, and rebuild other relationships in their life.

She believes that the addictions industry is a living, breathing community. She says, “When I work with a client in treatment, I know for a fact that they will have compassionate staff members and peers in residence to talk to. Comfort and support are readily available to help them 24/7.”

When she’s not at work, Carla finds happiness in chocolate chip cookies, wildflowers, 70’s rock n roll, the ocean, and really good coffee. She also spends some of her free time as a community theatre actress.
