As the first East Coast state to legalize the little green plant, Maine definitely has a lot to live up to when it comes to the cannabis business. In fact, economists have projected that the pot market in Maine will boost exponentially in 2019. Now that additional regulations have been lifted (due to the new Bill), pot businesses in Maine can continue to flourish and have more freedom to conduct operations. Even more fascinating, one caregiver in the Pine Tree State has sought new opportunities thanks to the expansion of pot details by using nothing but a simple walk-in cooler. Let’s take a closer look at this situation and find out more about the new marijuana “convenience store” that has opened in Maine.
Atlantic Farms Gas N’ Grass
At 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2018, a gas station and convenience store called Getty Mart (Warren Avenue) in Portland was converted into Atlantic Farms Gas N’ Grass, a combination gas station (one-stop), convenience store, and dispensary of medical marijuana. Thanks to the major changes in Maine’s 19-year drug program, caregivers can open up a variety of dispensaries that focus on the sale of medical marijuana and hire groups of employees to assist them. However, keep in mind that (despite these changes) towns and cities still have the legal right to ban these establishments.
Sourcing Quality Products
At this time, Gas N’ Grass will provide a plethora of medical-grade marijuana products including flowers, edibles, cannabis concentrates, and much more. However, customers will be required to obtain a marijuana ID (issued by the state government) before they can purchase any items at this convenience store. Based on a report from the Press Herald, the flowers cost $5 to $15 (per gram), and concentrates will run at $20 to $40 (per gram). In the interview, Jackson McLeod (the co-owner of Atlantic Gas N’ Grass) explained that customers will only receive the highest-quality items at this store, allowing medical marijuana patients to have more options for their medication.
