This page is a directory of community resources available to Orange County residents dealing with addiction, mental health challenges, or both. Recovery Support Meetings in Orange County

Peer support meetings are one of the most important long-term recovery tools available. Orange County has hundreds of meetings every week across multiple fellowship types. All are free to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

Hundreds of weekly meetings across Orange County. Open meetings welcome anyone interested in learning about AA. Closed meetings are for people who identify as having a desire to stop drinking.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA)

Daily meetings throughout Orange County for people recovering from drug addiction. NA welcomes anyone with a desire to stop using, regardless of the substance.

SMART Recovery

A science-based, secular alternative to 12-step programs. Uses cognitive behavioral therapy tools to build motivation, cope with urges, manage thoughts and feelings, and live a balanced life. Both in-person and online meetings available.

Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA)

12-step fellowship specifically for people recovering from methamphetamine addiction.

Dual Diagnosis Anonymous (DDA)

Support groups for people managing both addiction and mental health conditions simultaneously.

Refuge Recovery / Recovery Dharma

Buddhist-inspired, mindfulness-based approach to addiction recovery. A non-theistic alternative to 12-step programs.

Family & Loved Ones Support

Addiction and mental health conditions affect the entire family. These organizations provide support specifically for family members, spouses, and loved ones.

Al-Anon Family Groups — Orange County

Support groups for families and friends of people with alcohol use disorders. Meetings held throughout OC and Greater Long Beach.

Nar-Anon Family Groups

Support groups for families and friends of people with drug addiction. Similar to Al-Anon but focused on all substances.

NAMI Orange County — Family Support Groups

Free support groups for family members and caregivers of people living with mental illness. Meetings held in a confidential environment focused on sharing and mutual support.

Orange County Behavioral Health Services

Orange County provides a range of publicly funded mental health and substance use services through the Health Care Agency.

OC Links — Behavioral Health Resource Line

24/7 information, screening, and referral to OC behavioral health services. Serves all residents regardless of insurance status.

OC Health Care Agency — Alcohol & Substance Use Services

Publicly funded outpatient and residential treatment programs, methadone maintenance, Drug Medi-Cal services, and perinatal programs.

CalOptima Behavioral Health

Behavioral health services for Medi-Cal members enrolled in CalOptima. Provides screening, referrals, and access to mental health and substance use treatment.

Be Well OC

Community-based behavioral health campus and mobile crisis response services. Provides crisis stabilization, wellness and recovery services, and referrals.

Housing & Sober Living Resources

Stable housing is a critical component of successful recovery. These resources help OC residents find housing support.

Asana Recovery Sober Living

Structured, substance-free housing in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach. Peer accountability, random drug testing, and proximity to treatment and employment opportunities. Sober living residents attend outpatient programming at our Fountain Valley clinical hub.

2-1-1 Orange County

Free referral service connecting OC residents to housing assistance, shelters, transitional housing, and utility assistance programs.

OC Housing Authority

Administers Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) and other affordable housing programs for low-income Orange County residents.

Mercy House

Emergency shelters, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Orange County.

Employment & Vocational Support

Employment is one of the strongest protective factors against relapse. These resources help OC residents find work and build careers.

Orange County Drug Court

We are in-network with major PPO insurance providers, including Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, ComPsych, TriCare, and Tri-West. Most other PPO plans are accepted on an out-of-network basis. Coverage for outpatient mental health and substance use treatment is a federal requirement under the Mental Health Parity Act and the Affordable Care Act — most clients pay little to nothing out of pocket once benefits are verified.
