When she’s not baking with her daughter or going on hikes with her dog, you can find Yesenia with many different roles in the company, including HR and accounting. She manages the recruiting and hiring process as well as the finances within the company along with the CEO.
A typical day for Yesenia involves checking in with the management team, going over quickbooks, completing phone interviews, reviewing billing, and any other tasks that need to be completed for the day.
She was led to work in this field after working previously in real estate, but was offered a position to manage facilities in treatment. Being familiar with facilities and also knowing she was doing her part to help the program felt like a great opportunity for her. Over the past seven years it has led her to greater opportunities and to where she is now. She loves the opportunity to get to meet new people and recruit helpful people who want to make a difference everyday in the lives of the patients. She uses her strengths of customer service and ability to adapt to different environments in her position as ASANA Recovery.
“Getting to see our patients go from Day 1 to the time they graduate the program” is what Yesenia find most inspiring about working in this field.
When she’s not working, Yesenia most enjoys spending time with her three-year-old daughter and baking new and interesting recipes. She also enjoys taking her dog on hikes, as well as just spending time with her family. If she could travel anywhere in the world, she would love to travel to Spain to experience the history, culture, music, and the food.
Yesenia takes a lot of inspiration from her sisters. They are her rocks and both sisters are supportive of her choices in life. They spend a lot of time together and she was watched them both grow into confident women, which she admires so much.
When we asked her to describe herself in three words, her answer was independent, organized, and ambitious. This is exactly how those around her view her and why she is such an important part of our team!
Her advice to anyone looking into working in this field is to just be kind whenever you can and to pay it forward.
