In a large number of cases, people will successfully complete addiction treatment, returning to their lives as if the sickness had never affected them, but, in tragic cases, some people are locked into what seems like an endless cycle of addiction to recovery and addiction again. Over the years, we have seen many celebrities enter this hurricane of pain, suffering, and hopelessness. In the door they go, only to reemerge and get sick all over again. Just ask actress Heather Locklear, who is completing yet another stint at rehab due to problems with alcohol and pills. Let’s take a closer look and find out more about her story, as well as what she had to say about addiction last year.

Here We Go Again

According to a report given to representatives at People, Heather Locklear has recently checked into rehab about two weeks ago, ironically at the exact location where she had interred herself just a few weeks prior. As the source indicated, Locklear is an example of a patient who receives all the treatment money can buy, but this treatment simply doesn’t work. After undergoing therapy, she continued to drink alcohol, and her relationships have become strained as a result.

Locklear, in part, is reportedly addicted to pills and alcohol (specifically), and she has never stuck with a rehab treatment plan after leaving.

Words from the Lady

So what does Locklear have to say about this condition? In a 2018 interview, the actress described addiction as a ferocious disease that will try to drag you down a dark hole. Besides a string of unsuccessful rehab stints, the former Melrose Place (1992-1999) star has also had bad run-ins with law enforcement, due to recent attacks on an EMT and a police officer. Taking to Instagram, Locklear contributed words of wisdom about her illness and urged people to show kindness to everyone they come across.

We can hope and pray that she successfully completes treatment after this visit.
