Substance abuse does not always lead to addiction, but when it does, the results could be life changing and deadly. Addiction can be a very difficult thing to overcome, but it is in no way impossible. Many people want to change but often don’t know the best way to go about starting the process.  Often times, they wonder what is the best treatment option.

Commonly used methods of treatment are inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab. Both of these are viable options when it comes to getting treatment for a substance abuse addiction. Despite this, though outpatient rehab may be helpful and effective for some, even if the addiction is only moderate, it might not be enough to fully kick the addiction. This is where inpatient rehab becomes the next step.

Residential treatment is an intensive, rigorous, inpatient program that places the patient in an immersive and completely safe space. It may involve being in a hospital setting or a non-hospital setting depending on the individual’s needs. Often times, people believe that detoxification is enough but usually it should be followed by a residential treatment.

Residential treatment centers come with many perks and benefits that aren’t included in outpatient programs. This includes:

  • Sleeping accommodations, meals, and daily essentials
  • In house counseling, education, and therapies
  • Zero distractions and temptations
  • Close monitoring and comprehensive care
  • Structured days and recreational activities
  • Highly trained professionals who are there to help and provide guidance

Residential treatments are ideal for people who have tried other methods but have not yielded the desired results. They get to fully focus on beating addiction, all while learning strategic, positive affirmations along the way to help them better cope once they leave. It is a long lasting method that is proven to work. If you have tried in the past and now you want to successful results in a positive environment then this kind of treatment may be for you.

At Asana Recovery, we understand how difficult recovering from these addictions through our daily work to help those struggling most from this disease. While some may believe they can make it alone, rehabilitation programs are essential in the fight to break dependency. The road ahead is not a smooth or easy one, but you can traverse it if done so with the support of the right team. Counseling and aftercare processes can assist you by addressing the psychological facets that led you to addiction and help you build a structure from which to better cope with life without succumbing to addiction.
