At some point in our lives, we have all been exposed to the magic of Walt Disney animation. In fact, for many of us, Walt Disney himself was (and continues to be) a household name. For decades the films produced by this iconic man have taken us to enchanted forests, pirate-infested seas, and enchanted undersea kingdoms. Thanks to his spectacular projects, characters like Tinker Bell, Jiminy Cricket, and (of course) Mickey Mouse are permanent fixtures in our lives and our imaginations, and his magical world continues to thrive to this day. During his career, though, Mr. Walt Disney created the iconic Magic Kingdom, a theme park where children could actually meet their favorite princesses, swashbucklers, and fluffy friends and ride into a world of tomorrow. So imagine how disappointed and heartbroken many of us were to learn that this beautiful place will soon be serving one of the least beautiful aspects of American culture: alcohol. Needless to say, the rumors are igniting the media, and parents are not too happy. Let’s take a closer look and learn more.

Bountiful Booze

According to a report from the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic Kingdom will be adding alcoholic drinks to its menus at table service restaurants starting on December 23, 2018. In recent weeks, many parents have lashed out at Disney for placing a black mark on Walt’s legacy while also showing complete disgust toward the notion of introducing alcohol to a child-friendly environment. According to sources, Mr. Disney was not tolerant of alcohol in the least and refused to have it served at any location associated with his name.

Locations

DISNEY IS BRINGING ALCOHOL INTO THE MAGIC KINGDOMBased on the Sentinel report, officials have not released any details about what kind of drinks will be served at these locations. However, the Magic Kingdom has revealed which restaurants will be offering these intoxicating drinks:

  • Crystal Palace (Winnie the Pooh)
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table (Cinderella)
  • Liberty Tree Tavern
  • Skipper Canteen
  • Tony’s Town Square Restaurant (Lady and the Tramp)
