Simply put, the life of a model is never easy, but some lovely ladies can make it look effortless. Just ask supermodel Giselle Bündchen, who has made a living as one of the most iconic runway Amazons of all time. After her long-career with Victoria’s Secret, the German-Brazilian beauty has charmed us with her youthful features, fiery personality, and her strong beliefs about love and life. Healthy Living, Clean Eating

Nowadays, Giselle Bündchen and her husband Tom Brady (quarterback for the New England Patriots) are well-known for eating healthy foods and abstaining from any refined sugars. (Even nightshades including eggplants are off their menu.) Likewise, the couple manages to raise their children in a home fueled by fitness and clean-living.

So, you can imagine that some people were shocked or confused when they saw the Brazilian model sipping a glass of wine after her husband’s team lost the Super Bowl. In fact, one source even claimed she had rejoined humanity after indulging in the intoxicating drink. However, according to Bündchen, this single sip is far from the habits she used to pursue as a younger model.

Smoking, Booze, and Frappuccinos 

According to Bündchen, she used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and down an entire bottle of wine and three mocha frappuccinos on a daily basis, not exactly the diet you would expect for a model. In her memoirs Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, she talks about her tendency to overindulge on amazingly unhealthy substances as she was branching out into model-hood. At one point, however, Bündchen says she had had enough.

At one point, she stopped eating sugar and suffered from a two-week withdrawal period, complete with migraines and exhaustion. After the full three-month cleanse, Bündchen was back on her feet and ready to hit the runway again.
