Just because something is labeled as organic doesn’t mean it is good for you. After all, if you are lactose intolerant, are you going to take a bite out of natural cheese drained of the milk of grass-fed cows? While milk is certainly far from being addictive, the fact of the matter is that this message can also apply to cigarettes. Like natural cheese, “natural” or “organic” cigarettes are slapped under the label of being a “healthy alternative” to mass-produced products. As you may have expected by this point, though, this labeling couldn’t be further from the truth. Let’s take a closer look at the deception of “organic” cigarettes.

Misleading Marketing Strikes Again!

Overall, many people who love to light up after a hard day at work will probably leap out of their proverbial seats after hearing about “organic” cigarettes. “A cigarette that isn’t riddled with chemicals and can still give me a kick?” some of them will think. Sold!

Nevertheless, as you probably have guessed by this point, we have already learned that no single type of cigarette is healthy for you. Sure, the ingredients in those little paper tubes might be healthier than, let’s say, Pall Mall or Camel products, but the fact of the matter is that tobacco smoke and residual toxins, not to mention the stimulant nicotine, will still wreak havoc on users’ lungs.

Still, the marketing must be working, since 64% of users who smoke Natural American Spirit cigarettes firmly believe “organic” cigarettes are the ideal products.

Befuddling and Muddling the Public

Remember, people who smoke will, at times, be desperate to continue this habit and, as a result, they will turn to any alternative product they can get their hands on. Terms like “additive-free” and “natural” are pretty much green lights for anyone shopping in a supermarket, so you can guarantee that smokers, especially addicts, will be desperate to get their hands on these reputedly safe varieties.

Seeking Treatment for Cigarette Use

Remember that addiction can be triggered by one shot of alcohol or a single puff of a cigarette, but the true danger of this sickness is that you cannot fully determine how much you have to consume before your mind forms an attachment. Social smoking is just as dangerous as chronic smoking, on many levels, but you do not have to smoke to have a good time. Remember: drugs cannot determine if you have fun and do not have control over your life.

If you are suffering from a severe case of drug abuse or addiction, or have a friend or loved one who is coping with this illness, get in touch with Asana Recovery today. Our professional team of counselors and healthcare experts will help you endure the painful process of alcohol withdrawal and detox and guide you along the rocky road of rehabilitation. Soon enough, you will experience a faster and much more efficient recovery.
