Here is all the info you need to know about dancing with dilaudid.

Dancing with Dilaudid

Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is prescribed for severe pain, but this type of use is not common because it creates a high level of euphoria and is highly addictive. An addiction to Dilaudid occurs when a person develops a physical craving and mental obsession for the drug. Because of the intense potency of Dilaudid, it isn’t hard to become addicted within a short period of time.

With regular use, you need more of the drug to achieve the euphoric effect that you seek. After the dose or frequency of the drug is increased and you are satisfied with the euphoria produced by this higher dose, the brain adjusts yet again. This process occurs over and over again until you must have Dilaudid in your system just to be able to get out of bed in the morning.

Dancing with Dilaudid addicts value finding and using the drug first, much more than caring for children, paying bills or even eating. Even more interesting is the fact that friends and family members can sometimes exhibit the same patterns of denial to protect the addict from the consequences that may eventually lead them to seek treatment. The family member or friend in denial may “protect the addict to death,” literally. Dilaudid addiction is a severe, destructive and life threatening disease that requires intensive medication treatment for opiate addiction to ensure the safety of the detox.

Other behaviors displayed by those who abuse Dilaudid are false 911 calls and visits to emergency rooms, in order to obtain the drug. This is an example of the extreme lengths an addict will go to to get what they want, placing other people at risk of not being able to receive emergency services so that they can attain more drugs.

Often addicts will falsely claim to have lost their prescriptions in an attempt to get more drugs. When a user is taking Dilaudid for other reasons besides severe cough or pain, they will often combine its use with other psychoactive drugs.
